Tempting

The make up I chose to wear in yesterdays post was a little bit inspired by the Olsen twins smokey look that they have been rocking for ions.  I toned it down for day wear so it wasn't as deep and intense as some of their more recent dramatic looks.

I STILL haven't cleaned the mirror! minger.
I used 2 of my very favourite MAC shadows to create the look, Tempting and Twinks.  Tempting is a lovely shade which is very similar to Woodwinked (another favourite) but slightly less intense.  It's a golden bronze with a slight shimmer, super pigmented and is fabulous to use as there is little to no fall out from it!

I started layering products starting with MAC Patina then applied and blended Tempting at the outer corner.  To add some depth I used Twinks, a rusty brown, in the outer v which also really helped 'lift' the look and avoided a flat bronze appearance.

Face: Chanel Pro Lumiere
Cheeks: Benefit Hoola, MAC Sun&Moon
Eyes: MAC Patina, Tempting, Twinks; MAC Smouler liner; Urban Decay Bourbon 24/7 liner;  Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara
Lips: No7 Nude lipliner; Tom Ford Lip colour in Blush Nude; Estee Lauder gloss in Twilight Petal

I really love wearing this kind of smokey eye and it was a welcome return of the nude lip for me.  I was never truly sold on a nude lip but I think having a break from constant images of nude lips on other blogs has made it a nice change to try on myself.

Lots of you have been asking questions about my hair colour so I am just compiling a post to tell you more about it and to show off some of the products I use most on my hair!

Tom Ford is in my sights

A while ago I posted about my £1 Primarni geek chic spectacles that I have grown so fond of.  I love wearing them and they really make a difference to an outfit, just one simple accessory and your look is completely altered.

Well, I'm hoping to invest in a pair that scream more chic than geek and whilst I initially toyed with buying a pair of rayban wayfarers it is true to say my heart really lies with Tom Ford.

Not only is this man a God in the looks department, schhwwwiinng!! He is a kickass designer and even produces the odd amazing fragrance but for me it's his specs that have got my blood pumping - I think his line in eyewear is just the bees knees.  I am also partial to the imagery that comes along with his collections, it's bold, sexual, simple and striking.  You could pretty much frame it and hang it on a wall in your home as a one of piece of contemporary fashion photography.

Anyway, here are the glasses I lust after, I'm not even sure what season they are from but if I can't hunt them down, I will sure as heck searching for a half decent copy.  Retro, glossy and chic ... I love 'em!

Toffs are careless ...

I may have done a silly thing while I was in London but right now just let me bask in the infatuation of my new Tom Ford Lipstick.

Yes, I spent 35 smackers on this. I tried to convince myself not to but the packaging was so pretty right down to the etching of Tom's initials on the lipstick itself... and after all it was my birthday - I was allowed to treat myself.

This new Tom Ford line carries 12 shades that Tom deems universally flattering to all women. I was stuck between 'Total Coral' (used in the promo pics) and 'Blush Nude' for at least 20 minutes but figured if I was going to spend the money on it I was going to take the one that would be used the most - Blush Nude. I used the cost per wear method - if I can wear it for every £1 it cost then it would be justified so that's 35 times I need to wear this lippie - watch me!

These beautiful lipsticks contain murumuru butter, soja seed and chamomilla flower oil - something that the SA quoted when I initially gasped at the price - this is obviously what we are paying for.

Is it worth it? Well, I don't know, it looks so damn pretty I still haven't swatched it never mind worn it!!
