Wavy hair woes ...

Today I headed to Argos and picked myself up my own Babyliss Wavy Wand. The downside to having a giveaway on your blog, you can't enter yourself!

I tried the wand out earlier and as much as the results are spot on in terms of waving the hair, I a) feel my hair is still a bit short to achieve the gorgeous waves I aspire to, and b) my hair looks and feels dry and frizzy.

Here are the results, I have shown you one side of my hair as it was just a quick trial and didn't spend too much time on the other side.
The shape of the wave looks just right although i'd prefer it if my hair was longer. Look at the photo below though ... my hair looks like a bag of straw. I think it may be due to the fact I have recently 'ombred' my hair but what can I do?
This is where I need your help. What are the best products to use on my hair before styling in this way? How can I make my hair look strong, shiny and irresistable again, short of dying it back to one block colour?

Will a bit of frizz ease solve this? Or will my hair need some serious TLC?

HALP?!

  1. your hair looks gorgeous! i need to get me some new stylers for curls (the ghd's just dont cut it anymore)
Because I bleach my hair I like to use a heat protector prior to styling which usually seals the frizz. ATM im using 4+4 vitamin heat protector thingy which was about £6 its a pro product but you can get it online xxx

  2. I don't think it looks too frizzy - the wand has done a great job. I have a massive problem with humidity pouffing up my hair - it's not in bad condition but the pouffinhg up thing makles it look like it is. I've been using label M smoothing lotion on mine which has helped but I'm not sure it would help it hold a curl too well.... I'd say deep conditioning and maybe some sort of curl enhancing spray (I think John Freida do one in the frizz ease range) might be the way forward? I seriously think it looks fine in the pictures though! x

  3. I find that Boots Expert Heat Protection Taming Serum helps keep any frizz away, even after trying more expensive serums, it seems to work best. Also applying a hair mask once a week helps a lot, you'll really notice the difference!

  4. Your hair doesn't look like straw, it looks lovely!

I use Angel Fish serum after I've styled my hair. It's a miracle worker. It makes my hair look shinier and hides my dry, split ends. It's supposed to be used to achieve sleek, straight hair but it defines my curls beautifully. It smells like Mailbu though!

  5. Hey hun, the wave looks gorgeous, my hair goes like this when I play with it too much, I would say use a good deeep conditioner, maybe even coconut or olive oil and wrap cling film around it and leave it in for an hour before washing it out. Use a serum, the frizz ease would be good but I really do like the avon one for dry ends, I'm also liking the tigi split end mender. X

  7. Moroccan oil!!! This stuff is wonderful…..ok, so it is also chock full of silicone (as well as argan oil) but it works wonders for smoothing and de-frizzing…I manage a hair salon and we have been selling it by the truckful. Just amazing….
