A wee fashion haul

Ok, so this post was supposed to be my first FOTD but I couldn't find the USB cord to upload the pics ... then I found it ... and celebrated with a chocolate muffin!! Then... as i was about to upload the camera ran out of battery and the charger went missing!! So you can imagine my frustration!!

In the meantime, I have taken some pics on my mobile phone of some purchases from yesterday.

First of all I purchased some jewellery ... and i seemed to have stuck to a bit of a theme here! I bought a pair of angel wing earrings from topshop - they are huge and have little diamontes in them. I love this look, it reminds me of the whole art deco era which i love. I also bought an angel wing necklace from Mango .... however, I won't be wearing these items at the same time, that would just be naff!!

I also bought a little spring/summer dress from Mango ... It's navy with an asymmetric frilly shoulder/neckline. Its just a simple little dress and I plan to team with a belt and flats during the day or with wedges for evening. I have a little straw bag that will go perfectly with this too ... should be perfect for my Italian getaway that i have just booked for my 1st anniversary!
I also picked up 2 pairs of shoes. Now, I love shoes .... like, i really really love shoes and usually spend a bit of money on them but more and more recently I have been noticing how amazing the shoes in New Look are. They are just so fashion forward and so reasonably priced. They are not always the best of quality but sometimes if you are looking for a quick solution to a wardrobe dilemna then it really is a godsend. I picked up 2 pairs of shoes which totalled £60 I think ... cheapness!!! I couldn't decide which pair i prefered so thought it best to take them both home and try with different outfits. I would say these shoes definitely look better on and i wore the brown ones last night and they looked great .... however, I am thinking of returning the black ones even though I have a few things they would go great with!

Here are the brown (they are a bit dirty, I wore them to a messy night out last night!!!)
And here are the black (thinking of returning these)

There were a few other things purchased but far too boring to post. Also have a list of make up I need to buy but didn't get the chance too so hopefully I will be able to buy that through the week.

Hope your all having great weekends, will hopefully have my FOTD posted before the weekend ends!

Chanel Foundations Review

Well calling this a review might be bigging it up a bit too much, its really just a quick overview of the 3 Chanel foundations I have tried or use at the moment. Vita Lumiere is missing from this list but to be honest I am not sure its one i will even try simply because I have heard it gives more of a dewy finish .. and as much as I would love that I tend to find anything that is too dewy just makes me look greasy ... even though i do not suffer from oily skin. So anyway lets move on to the ones I have used

Chanel Pro Lumiere - I have started with this as this is the one I actually purchased (the rest were samples). I bought Pro in cendre/shell but looking back I could have done with purchasing in Clair/Cameo as I am a bit pale at times. However, I have been bronzing this week and the colour is looking absolutely fine. Pro has a lovely rich texture and is neither too thick or runny. I do find however once it is on the skin it can take a bit of working into. So far I have not applied with a brush and finding the application pretty good with just my fingers. So far this is probably the only foundation I have found that gives me a flawless finish with a dewy sheen. It was described to me as medium coverage but not sure I would agree with that i would say it is more full. It is a semi matt foundation but to be honest it does give me quite a dewy finish and that is without the presence of already oily skin so I do feel the need to powder afterwards and for the first few days of wearing it I did have to re-powder quite a lot but now i have managed to work out the right amount of powder in the first place. Apparantly there is a presence of silicone in the formula and has reflectng pigments which really helps give the impression of really smooth surface on the skin. I would definitely recommend this product, even though it can at times seem a bit thick I still use on a daily basis but may start saving to great the flawless effect on glam nights out!

Chanel Matt Lumiere - Ok, so i used a sample of this. A sample lasted me over a week, less is more with this particular foundation. I used it in clair/cameo which was perfect for me. Again I used with my fingers and was so easy to blend and did not require too much effort. Now I have said before that Pro gave a flawless finish but if its possible to be even more flawless then this is the one to do it. To me Matt usually equals dry but there was just the right amount of sheen from this product to keep it looking fresh on my face. I felt i looked really polished using this as my base and was the perfect blank canvas for my face. Where the pro had a dewiness that sometimes required a re-powder, this did not .. it was long lasting and stayed put all day long and looked perfect all day long! I didn't feel overly made up at all but again I may not use this product in Summer as there is a lot of coverage with it. I am definitely going to purchase this foundation and can see it becoming my HG base!

Chanel Teint Innocence - this was another sample and i used it in claire/cameo as per the Matt Lumiere. This was a much lighter consistency and very easy to apply with brush or fingers .. i preferred using my fingers (i was really just too lazy to clean my brushes!!) ... I have freckles on my face and the application of this was sheer enough for them to show through. It was long lasting but didn't give as flawless a base. I do think this is a great purchase for Summer however and will be looking to purchase when the sunny days come in and I want to get the freckled sunny look back on show again!!

Hope this helps anyone looking to purchase Chanel foundations... it is a bit of a ramble as I have my husband beside me pestering me to help him sell something on ebay!!! Never get any peace round here, honestly!! he he ;)

Li-lo's dress ... i like!

So i really like the dress Lindsay Lohan is wearng but I'm not too sure about her dirty looking make up, not so good fake tan, dried out looking hair and strange placement of her boobs.

I do like the colour and the detailing on the dress pockets though ;)

Tag - 6 things that make me happy!

Ok, so i was tagged by Bucca to list 6 things that make me happy. This is one of those things that should be soooo easy but is really quite hard to think of!! Anyway... here is just some of the things in life that make me happy

1) Partying!! I love dancing, socialising, love music ... and love going to club nights with fabulous DJs playing all night long, love singing, drinking, being all glitter and glam ... I just enjoy having fun so this has to top my happy list! And here is a pic of me mid good time ... I think at this point in time i was completely static and the crowd were bouncing me along.
2) Newborn babies. They are so small and smell so sweet and love being cuddled. 3) My Husband. aaaw. nuff said

4) Shopping and finding great little treasures. I am a bit of a magpie so accessories are a big thing for me as are shoes. I look for gorgeous detailing in my clothes and jewellery and get excited if i find a jacket with a beautiful or unusual lining. I am lucky enough to share this love with my No.3

5) Great Locations ... I love travelling and learning about different cultures. When i travel abroad i really try and immerse myself in a culture ... whether it be somewhere hot and exotic or a fabulous city break!
6) My friends

So, there we go. done.

Now i tag Hele says, Laurasbloggyblog, Lazula80, amyyyox, HollyYM and Allmadeup

Redheads Rock!

I am a natural redhead ..... with freckles. I don't tan (although I am the only redhead i know who does not tan.) I always feel this description conjurs up the image of a snotty faced, ugly little girl so that probably the reason for this post ... oh and im not snotty faced ... or too ugly! lol matter of opinion though i suppose!

When i was about 19 i started fighting the red and dyed my hair blonde, brown, purple (accident!!) and jet black. I'm not sure if I just wanted a change or was actually giving into the childhood jibes of gingernut, duracell, freckleface etc. To be honest i never remember being all that bothered by these jibes as a child, my hair is more auburn and i was constantly being reminded by all the adults in my life how amazing it was so I was always pretty happy to have it.

My mother warned me not to dye it, she told me it would ruin my hair and I would never be able to get it back to its natural gorgeousness and boy was she right!! I now need to dye my hair a similar shade of red to my natural colour because what is left of my natural hair just appears dry and lifeless when left to its own devices. Sometimes Mamma really does know best!!

Now I am older I embrace my red hair and love how it makes me stand out from a crowd, yet i find this stigma attached, some girls will behave as if i am inferior due to my hair colour or tell me how ugly and orange my babies will be??!! huh?!!

Anyway, it seems that years ago there was hardly a redhead about in the Media (other than Sonia who i hated being compared to!!) but these days its getting more and more popular and its much easier to remind myself of how amazing red hair is, despite there still being a lot of critics out there! There are even redhead hate websites!! Jeez!!

So here is my rundown of some of the most gorgeous and inspiring redheads:

Brazilian model (yes, Brazilian!) Cintia Dicker... she is a natural redhead, freckly and utterly gorgeous!! LOVE

Isla Fisher, with her celtic colouring she is just adorable and I am dying to see Confessions of a Shopaholic (which i believe to be the story of my first 23 years on this planet lol!)
Natural redhead Lily Cole, she is not only a unique beauty but she is super smart too!

Desperate Housewife Marcia Cross is just the epitome of class and sophistication
Class and sophistication does not go hand in hand with Miss Lohan but she did look pretty gorgeous in her hey day (this shade is pretty similar to my own)
Model Coco Rocha may not be a natural redhead but she looks pretty damn cool!
British Model Karen Elson always looks amazing I could also mention Debra Messing, Julianne Moore, Nicole Kidman and Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud .......... redheads are taking over the world!! Lol

Who is your favourite redhead? Do you love it or do you loathe it??

My favourite Nars blush ...

I thought i would post about this product not because it is the most wearable but simply because it is such an amazing colour.

Its Nars Exhibit A

Its a kind of burnt glowing bright organgey red ... It really is wow!! I did put this on my cheek to show you but the pics of me turned out so horrendous (i look soooo overtired) that i could not face posting them so have shown you a swatch on my hand instead.

Its a scary colour to think about applying and is really suited to darker skintones on which it would be just gorgeous ... but even me being a paley, i manage to carry it off.... somehow!

It was my old flatmate who first introduced me to it (she is a Nars MUA) .... she was helping me achieve an Olsen Twin uber tanned goth look at the time and she tried some on me. It really is amazing how translucent it is on the skin compared to in its packaging. It is probably best applying with a fan brush but i also apply with my normal blush brush and as long as I am light with my hand its all good. Its durability is amazing ... this is the one blusher that i probably never ever ever need to reapply or even feel the need to reapply (whether i need it or not)

I usually wear it with a dark smoky eye either when i am using blacks or dark blues and navy ... would probably choose not to wear it if i was going for a neutral/brown smoky eye. It really is an incredible colour and these pictures most certainly do not do it justice.

I am sure i remember my flatmate telling me a story that it was named Exhibit A because it was the same colour of the blood that was left at a really famous crime scene. I am not sure if this is true but it certainly adds to the drama of this already exciting colour!

Next time you are at a Nars counter have a look for it and you will see just how scaringly shocking it is in real life!!

My Style Icons ....

This one post could last pages long ... there are so many celeb styles I admire and take inspiration from and I have to say they are not all alike, just shows how varied my style seems to be. Here are a few of my style icons old and new ...
Super cool, Blondie

The nations sweetheart, Cheryl Cole

The worlds most captivating woman, Marilyn Monroe

Of course I have to have Auds in hereAnd Kate Moss ... she has inspired a nation of young girls (even if she is a bit over-rated at times)
The chic Jackie O (she paved the way for oversized sunnies)
The sophisticated Grace Kelly
The funky Edie Sedgwick

The gorgeous Sophia Loren

So who are your style icons??

Weight Loss and wedding fever!

So for the past 2 weeks i have been working out at the gym big time!! I lost 2lbs last week and today lost another 2lbs! I'm delighted! Its a healthy weightloss and i am starting to really notice my body changing from all the exercise! Whoop whoop!

So with that in mind I am trying to pick out the perfect outfits for all 5 full day weddings I am attending this year .. the first being in April! I can see this is going to cost me a fortune!!

Ideally, I do want a different outfit for each wedding but already i am lacking on the inspiration side. I know colours i am after for each wedding though ... know this sounds odd but i want to wear cream to one, navy to another, then coral and I have not decided on the other 2 .. this is where I may double up on looks for the last 2 weddings.

I absolutely love the style of this dress that Kate Winslet wears in Revolutionary Road! I think this would be perfect with tossled hair and Pixiwoo's Sophia Loren look (the SL look is a must have for at least one of the weddings! - i love it)
Problem is I haven't really seen a dress like this anywhere in a suitable colour or fabric. I would think of getting something made or even customising something but because I want to lose more weight I want to hold off buying anything until as close to the day as i can!

What do you think of this look? Nice or naff?

"His hello was the end of her endings .."

So following on from my previous Wedding post, i thought i would do a quick post and share with you one of the readings from my big day! I absolutely love it and some of you may recognise it from Sex and the City! Usually i might think of this kind of thing as a bit naff but I wouldn't have used it if the words hadn't been so lovely ... hope you like:

His hello was the end of her endings
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever
His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing
She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered
And his answer was “I do”

Barry M

Well, after todays rage at Mac and Nars i was too annoyed to even look at anything .. had been planning on picking up a few things but decided to head home in a huff instead lol!

So on my way to the train i stopped by Superdrug and picked up a couple of lip paints and nail paints. Note: 2 nail paints for £4.99 at the mo!!

So first of all i picked up the 101 lip paint. I have heard everyone going on about this so thought i would try it and see what all the fuss was about. To be honest, i don't think it will suit me well on its own but i am sure if i mixed it with something else it would look great... so i will need to get mixing. The second lip paint was 121 which is a bright pillarbox red. It really reminds me of Gosh velvet touch in Lambada but it seems to have a little more orange in it.

I have yet to try 121. Didn't want to mess around too much today as I will be going out again soon.

Onto the nail paints. I picked up 296 Coral and 279 Bright Pink. The coral is a fab colour for spring/summer ... it is a little bit on the neon side but not too over the top so can still get away with this at work. The Bright Pink is more like a bright baby pink. I have yet to try this but i am now currently sporting some lush coral nails. Again i won't disgust you with photos of my podgy hands lol!

Barry M really cheered up my day of discontent! yay

MAC Rage!!

So Valentines for me was just lovely, even more so as my Star of a husband bought me Mac and Nars goodies!! However, unknown to him he was buying me products i already had. He bought me MSF Redhead and Blowdry lipstick and a Nars Candle.

I didn't think it would be a problem to exchange the products. I went along to my local House of Fraser to exchange but turns out because there is no receipt they will refuse to exchange. At one point i nearly had a bust up with the store manager which is very out of form for me as I try to keep as calm as possible in these situations. Anyway, the outcome was that i stormed off (probably a bit childish) but i was so angry I couldn't speak to the Manager any longer.

I understand a receipt being required for refund but for exchange i find a bit ridiculous. Gggrrrr ... so looks like i will be heading to slapswap.com!! Doesn't help that EVERY time i go to my local Mac the girls there are so rude and arrogant ... their customer service is appalling.

Another, highlight or lowlight of Valentines day was losing my wedding ring!!! GASP! It took 3 hours of turning the flat upside down but we finally found it just before we headed out for dinner - PHEW!!

Edie Sedgwick - Warhols Superstar

I am not sure what it is about Edie Sedgwick but I am so intrigued about her life. In fact I am probably a bit like this with any 'celeb' who seems to have lived a tragic life or their lives have ended too soon ... e.g, Marilyn Monroe, Edie, Gia, Bettie Page, River Phoenix and so on.

Edie Sedgwick was an American socialite/model who was best known as Andy Warhol's muse during a short time in the 60's. She was often seen at social events and hung out at the Factory with Warhol. She was also the subject of many of his short movies. She was rumoured to have had an affair with Bob Dylan and led a tragic life fuelled with drugs and suffered from aneroxia nervosa. When she died in 1971 the cause of death was ruled as "undetermined/accident/suicide". She was only 28. She was an amazing looking woman with so much potential but with so many hidden demons.

If you have ever seen the movie Factory Girl with Sienna Miller, you will know exactly who i am talking about. Anyway, this is one of my favourite images of Edie Sedgwick with Warhol and Chuck Wein. It was taken by a wonderful photographer named Burt Glinn. I recently try to purchase a reproduction of this for my home about 4 months ago but the asking price was £4,000!!! Hmmm, i think i will just use it as my desktop for now, lol.

Everyone, have a Happy Valentines day tomorrow, whatever you are up to - I'm going to be enjoying my first Valentines as a married lady!!

Chanel Pro Lumiere and Revlon Colourstay Combo

So last week after months of hunting for the perfect foundation, I decided on Chanel Pro Lumiere. (Majorly influenced my Pixiwoos wicked tutorials - love love love)

I have worn it quite a bit now but as much as I love it and think it gives great coverage, I believe i was sold the wrong shade. I am quite pale but wear a lot of fake tan. On this basis i was sold a shade that was slightly darker - 1.5 Cendre. Now i didn't really think this was a good idea at the time but i tested it on my skin and thought it was fine in the shop (underneath all the artificial lighting!!! isn't that such a pain!?). However, since then i have felt it just makes my skin look dirty! Flawless ... but dirty! If that sounds possible.

After reading Hele's blog and her trouble with returning products to Chanel I decided against going back and thought i could just use it for nights out when i am tanned to the max ... however, this morning while putting on my make up I noticed that my Revlon Colourstay in Sand Beige was actually very similar to the Pro Lumiere in 1.5 Cendre although the Chanel is a tad darker. So i decided to mix and see what i came up with.

Well, it came out almost perfect in colour .... just the inbetween of the 1.5 Cendre and 1.0 Clair/Cameo that my skin needs when i am tanned! Whoop Whoop! Not only that but the coverage it gave seemed to be a lot smoother and less shiny that the Pro on its own and less dry and matt than the revlon colourstay on its own - fab! Now i would post pics of what it looked like on and the differences of them on their own but I am afraid to say i do still feel a bit shy about this. Not sure why!! Will need to pluck up courage in the future.

I do love Pro Lumiere but sometimes i feel i need to powder my nose so to speak with it on as i seem to look overly shiny at times. However, for my next purchase i think i will go with the Matt Lumiere in 1.0 Clair/Cameo as I tried this as a sample and it left my skin looking flawless and was the perfect base for the rest of my make up. It would be great for wearing to work through the week when i am not always so tanned.

So top tip girls if your foundations aren't quite working like you want them to mix them up with a li'l something else and customise your own!!

OPI Russian Navy

I bought this OPI Russian Navy a few weeks ago. Navy is one of my favourite colours so i had high hopes for this product but when i first wore it the colour looked weak and more purple than navy ... however i gave it another go last night and applied a thicker coverage this time. Well, it came out exactly as i had originally imagined it would look like. Its a lush shade of navy with a purple shimmer undertone. I love!

Please excuse my dodgy podgy fingers - i really have the most unattractive hands!! Think Russian Navy will be my Valentine's Day look or maybe China Glaze Ruby Pumps ... not decided yet!

Tuesday 10 February 2009

Stephanie Browne

I love my accessories ... earrings, rings, big bangles ... i have an enormous collection but usually stick to high street stores whilst dreaming of high end jewellery and accessories. My most treasured item is my art deco-esque engagement ring - its gorge! When I was getting married last Summer I looked everywhere for gorgeous jewellery to compliment my ring and came across a real treasure!

I found Stephanie Browne. Stephanies work has been likened and compared to Chanels jewellery range ... having ogled over the Chanel website and catalogues for an eternity i can say that is a fair comment to make ... and must admit I am now more attracted to SB's line!! Shocking for me to turn my back on good ol' Chanel!

In the end i left it too late to order what i wanted from the site but it is now on my eternal wishlist to own Stephanie Browne jewellery one day. Just need to find somewhere to wear it to but then again who needs an excuse?!

I especially love

I Heart Berlin!

Ooh ooh i just couldn't pop off to bed until i posted this!! I had completely forgotten i had taken this photo whilst in Berlin for New Year!... isn't it great?! I was quite proud of it and thought it looked pretty arty - it will definitely be framed for the wall at some point. I love Berlin - it has a great social scene, nightlife is fab, great for shopping and finding little boutiques with new designers, everyone is so open minded, the history is heartbreaking but the future is enchanting... love love LOVE!!

We had just by chance walked past this car on new years day while nursing a hangover .. someone had written on the snowy back window. The car is reminiscent of a traditional German car called a trabi, think thats what makes this photo so special!

It sums up my thoughts on Berlin perfectly!

Bettie Page rules .....

So, thats me back from my weekend and have come back to read so many blogs about the BBR and cremesheen collections that i really can't be bothered to write too much myself on it - its all been said already.
I picked up the redhead MSF - love it! Lipstick in Blowdry - love it! and the cremesheen gloss partial to pink - hmmm the jury is out on that one!

So tonight I was having a look on my hard drive where i store all my photos and images and came across lots of images I love and had saved for later use.

I love images of women. Glamourous, sexy, iconic women. I am a big fan of Burlesque, Cabaret etc and i love Playboy images especially from the 50s and 60s ... and adore 50s pin ups, my favourite being the infamous Bettie Page. Bettie became famous in the 1950s for her fetish modelling and pin up photos........ most people i speak to have never heard of her but she has become a bit of a cult icon. She was also Playboys playmate of the month in January 1955 i think.... and it seems today she is still influencing our modern day icons, Dita Von Teese for sure! She just looks so amazing and for her time she was taking big risks having a career as a pin up model!

In fact all these images I want to use in my home in some way or another. Would love an oversized playboy cover framed on the wall but so far everyone thinks its a bit batchelor padd-ish!! In fact the picture of Miss May on the zebra print rug inspired me to buy my very own rug .... although i don't lounge around naked on it...yet!! LOL!! only joking - i won't be doing that anytime soon ... too cold for a start lol!
I seem to love anyone with really distinctive looks that stand out in a crowd without looking gawdy. I love the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Diana Dors, Rita Hayworth, Edie Sedgwick, Gia, Blondie, Audrey Hepburn (always on anyways list i think). I think it maybe comes from being a redhead ... you don't really get to blend in to the background so easily.
Nowadays, I am loving people like Lady Gaga, Dita and Lily Cole, Leona Lewis and Britains sweetheart of the moment - Cheryl Cole.

Well now i have had a bit of a ramble i think i will get off to bed - going to spin class tomorrow - all part of the 'Looking Fine in 2009' resolution!!! I had better look like Elle McPherson by the end of the month or else i may just give up!!! lol

xx

TAG! You're it!

So, I am pretty new to blogging and I have noticed on many others that people are being tagged or are tagging. E.g, Someone will write about their Top 5 facts then will tag someone else to do the same.

How does this work? How do i tag? And how do I know if I have been tagged??

To CHI or not to CHI?! That is the question ....

So as i mentioned in my previous post I am going to do a quick review of all the CHI products I own and have used and what i have thought about them. This was spurred on initially by Lazalu who asked what i thought of CHI products but secondly by my visit to the Hairdressers!

First of all, let me tell you what I have. From left to right we have, Silk Infusion; Straight Guard ;Keratin Mist; Nourish Intense; 44 Iron Guard; Volume Boost; Helmet Head and finally, Infra Texture.Let me also tell you that I am usually very faithful to good old Kerastase - its a dream for my hair but when i seen the CHI collection go half price or less at Sally's I thought it was a great opportunity to try something new. And its always good to switch it about anyway.

Silk Infusion - This is called a 'silk reconstructing complex'. Now when I first purchased this i was told to put it on my hair after blowdrying and before straightening as it acted as a guard against the heat of your straighteners. I did this using a very very small amount (I cannot stress this enough, the tiniest dollop goes a long way) ... but found that it made straightening my hair feel a little grainy, which is never the case as I use GHDs - my ultimate hair tool! I swear by them. Once I had finished my hair actually seemed a little frizzy with little frazzled bits of hair sticking out all over the place. Not impressed. However, I then tried it again after i had blowdryed and straightened as normal ... i used it to almost set the finish and add a bit of shine and sleekness to the hair and it worked a dream. It made my hair feel glossy, smooth and tug free. So, used the way the professionals advised i would give it a 2/10 but using my own method i would give it an 8/10

Straight Guard - So i use this once i have washed my hair and again only use a very small amount. I work it through my damp hair before blowdrying and I can honestly say that I notice a difference on how straight my hair appears even after only drying. Please be aware, I have slightly wavy hair so I always use straighteners but with this product I actually spend less time using the GHDs so I was pretty impressed with this. However, use too much of this and your hair will feel heavy. All in all i would give it a 7/10

Keratin Mist - this is a leave-in strengthening treatment. Ok, so i have only used this product once. I used it after washing when my hair was damp and I style as normal. I noticed after straightening that my hair felt a little heavy and ever so slightly coarse. Although in a sense it still felt strengthened it was almost as if it was a little dirty. Hence the reason i have never used it again. Although, I may try it again soon to see if there is a difference this time. So for now its a 3/10

Nourish Intense - This is described as a hydrating silk bath. I had high hopes for this as I love a good conditioning treatment. I usually use Kerastase Masquintese and find it works a dream so was hoping this would be even better. Instead i found my hair to feel heavy, coarse and a little grainy when styling afterwards. I felt really let down by this product and like Keratin Mist i have only used it once. But with this one I do not think i will be trying again. So thats a 2/10

44 Iron Guard - Hmmm to be honest this just made my hair feel sticky. I sprayed a small amount on each section of my hair before straightening and i felt that i really had to tug the straighteners through to the ends of my hair instead of it gliding with ease. Disappointed! But I may try it again just to be sure its not just me. 2/10

Helmet Head - So this is an 'extra firm spritz' which is to be used for creating voluminous styles that stay in place. I used this on a night i was off out and knew my hair needed some oomph but also to be kept in place. So i chose the Bloc Party concert - lots of jumping about to be done! I had quiffed my hair to within an inch of its life and set about using the spritz. The bottle says it is fast drying which is true but it leaves little droplets of the product everywhere which seemed impossible to get rid of without ruining my quiff. On a good note it almost looked like sparkle in my hair but by the end of the night, my hair seemed a little dull and bits of my quiff kept falling out so all night I was constantly pushing it back up into place. This never happens when I use Elnette so......... 3/10

Infra Texture - this is a fast drying hair spray that is supposed to also help the hair shine. When i spray it on I almost feel like there is nothing there so I need to be careful not to spray too much. I would say it does a pretty good job and helps stop frizz too so it should be ideal for hot summer nights but I can't help think that Elnette is still a little better. I am going to keep on using this though as i like the light application of it. 7/10

Volume Boost - I don't think i took a picture of this but with this you spray to the roots of your hair when still damp then style as usual. One thing i can say is that it really does give good volume! But if you use too much of the product hair can feel really heavy. I think to perfect anything with CHI products - less is definitely more. The only downside so far to this is sometimes i notice my scalp looking really shiny and think it is from the product sticking. Not that this is a big deal. 8/10

So thats what i think of all my products, however when at the hairdressers this week, my hair fairy noticed my roots being really dry and that a lot of colour had been stripped from my hair. This never usually is the case. My hair is in good condition and my colour (red on red) just fades naturally and gradually over every 6 weeks. She asked what I had been doing differently and the only thing is CHI!!! Yikes!! So, from the products I do not like so much, I will discontinue use. Problem is I am not sure which product has been causing the damage or if its a few of them or all of them! For now, I will stick to silk infusion, infra texture and sometimes the volume boost and see how my hair fairs over the next 6 weeks.

I hope this has been helpful. Everyones hair is different so I am sure CHI is ideal for others but for me it isn't as impressive as i thought it was going to be.

What do you guys think? Do you use it? Have you had similar issues with it at all?
